Essential Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of modelling, shading and texturing in Maya.
  • BA in Animation/Art, related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent game-focused portfolio.
  • Character, Environment, Prop creation (Modelling/texturing).
  • Adept with Adobe Photoshop.
  • Adept with high-detail sculpting packages (Z-brush preferred) & the baking-down to in-game process.
  • Understanding of technical art constraints, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent artistic skills with good understanding of form, composition, colour and lighting.
  • Ability to adapt to different art styles as required to follow concept art or design specs.

Role Responsibilities

  • 3D Character and environment model and texture creation.
  • 2D Backgrounds, UI and Icons.
  • 3D Asset optimisation for Game Engines.
  • Create custom or tileable textures/characters/environment/props in a hybrid 2D/3D format.
  • Assets creation (3D/2D) for marketing campaigns.

Major Pluses

  • Experience developing using Unity.
  • Scripting in any language is a bonus.
  • The ability to rig and animate.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects.
  • Technical understanding of digital art pipelines with solid knowledge of the technical aspects of level building, and have constructed levels from start to completion.

  • Familiarity with all aspects of the rendering pipeline.
  • Excellent HLSL and Cg programming skills.

  • Ability to come up with creative, efficient rendering solutions for a wide variety of assets including fur, skin, hard surface etc.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of new graphics technologies (rendering, lighting, shadows, shaders, culling, FX, scene management and others) and enhance existing processes to help achieve state-of-the-art visuals.
  • Work to expand our graphics pipeline including advanced lighting and rendering techniques, and special effects.
  • Extend our existing renderer to support new rendering capabilities.
  • Help to create and implement real-time particle effects and animated shaders.

Major Pluses

Technical Animator / Rigger

We are currently seeking a Technical Animator with talent and ambition, who wants to have meaningful input, work hard and join us in an exciting phase of our company's development. If you have a passion for games and the skills we are looking for then please don't hesitate to contact us.

The successful applicant will be responsible for creating character setups, including the rigging of various heroes, enemies, weapons, vehicles and props. They will act as a bridge between character modellers and animators, and will design and implement the skeleton, animation controls and deformation rig for a wide variety of assets.

Essential Skills

  • Degree in Computer Science, Art, Animation, Engineering, or equivalent experience that would equal that level of professionalism, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Fantastic comprehension of anatomy and articulation (human and creature mechanics).
  • Strong knowledge of Maya’s rigging toolset, including: skeleton placement, skinning techniques, IK/FK setup, corrective blendShape workflow, expressions, utility nodes, and Maya deformers.
  • Broad knowledge of rigging bipedal and quadrupedal creatures.
  • Experience in setting up automated secondary animations such as hairs, clothes and muscular deformation (xGen, BiFrost, nCloth etc).
  • Solid mathematical skill level, including but not limited to matrix manipulation, vector math, curve math, linear algebra and a mathematical understanding of constraints.
  • Some experience in MEL and Python.
  • Thorough understanding of traditional art skills (Form, architecture, topology, colour theory, and UV mapping).
  • Some experience in rendering with a desire to learn more.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Role Responsibilities

  • Generate a variety of realistic creature, hero, vehicle and prop rigs.
  • Define the specification of control structures and rig functionality.
  • Develop and maintain realistic facial rigs.
  • Apply and optimise clothing and hair simulations and other areas requiring technical animation.
  • Responsible for developing scripts in support of the art pipeline.
  • Write utility scripts to help other riggers, animators and pipeline developers.
  • Work with the Animation Department to ensure the successful handoff and execution of character rigs, including in-scene troubleshooting and rig optimization.

Major Pluses

  • C++ / C# experience a plus
